Empowering Jordanian Youth: Strategic CSR Partnerships Drive Sustainable Development

At the heart of the Youth Grow Activity (YGA), our team has been working as dedicated CSR consultants, driving efforts to create real, lasting change for Jordan’s young people. By connecting corporate social responsibility (CSR) with the ambitions and needs of local youth, we’re helping to lay the groundwork for a future full of opportunity and growth.

In September 2024, we brought together 12 of Jordan’s leading private sector companies for a dynamic CSR Networking Event. The event was a space for open dialogue and collaboration, igniting partnerships that are set to make a real difference. The energy was palpable as organizations and youth advocates brainstormed how to bring innovative projects to life, blending corporate expertise with community needs.

As a result of our efforts, six impactful CSR-based models were developed to address the diverse challenges faced by Jordan’s youth:

• Planting Seeds of Opportunity in Naour: In partnership with local organizations, we launched a transformative thyme planting and packaging initiative. This isn’t just about agriculture; it’s about giving young people the tools to thrive, fostering entrepreneurship, and utilizing local resources to build a sustainable economy.
• Strengthening Education in Jerash: We identified critical gaps in Math and English education and facilitated partnerships to bring much-needed support to local schools. This initiative aims to empower students, preparing them for a world of new opportunities.
• Building Careers in Hospitality in AsSalt: With tourism booming in AsSalt, we guided the creation of a youth-run motel project. This initiative goes beyond job creation; it offers practical training in hospitality, providing young people with the skills they need to excel in a rapidly growing sector.

Throughout the year, we hosted focus groups in Naour, AsSalt, and Jerash, listening closely to the voices of youth and their communities. These conversations offered valuable insights, shaping our projects to be directly aligned with the needs of local youth, ensuring that our initiatives are not only effective but deeply relevant.

Our journey doesn’t end here. We’re committed to continuing this work, hosting regular CSR networking events, building strong alliances, and fostering a culture of collaboration between the private sector and local communities. Our goal is to empower youth everywhere to take charge of their future, equipping them with the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
